Carbon dioxide (CO2) level is one of the main indicators of air quality within buildings. The higher the concentration, the more tired people are and ability to focus on anything plummets. Very high concentrations (some sources state as low as 2000 ppm and up) can cause physical symptoms like headaches, nausea etc.
For example we have a law in Czech republic saying the upper limit of CO2 concentration has to be below 1,500 ppm and a sufficient ventilation, either natural or forced, has to be has ensured (see Decree No. 20/2012 Sb [link in in Czech language].)
"The UK standards for schools say that carbon dioxide in all teaching and learning spaces, when measured at seated head height and averaged over the whole day should not exceed 1,500 ppm." (Quote from Wikipedia)
Exceeding said concentrations is very easily avoidable - simple open a window and let fresh air in. Ideal is to ventilate automatically without losing heat. This is what our products are exactly for. Easily automate ventilation in lecture halls, offices, conference halls or at home.
You can find devices to measure carbon dioxide (CO2) level very accurately too. These are easily integrated to Your automation systems - either via Ethernet or RS485. Please do not hesitate to contact us, we're happy to help you chose.
